Ronald G. Cayse

REEDSBURG — Ronald G. Cayse, age 71, of Reedsburg, died on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2009 in his home. He was born on April 24, 1938 in Cincinnati, Ohio the son of Harold and Agnes (McGill) Cayse. On Dec. 3, 1955, he was united in marriage to the former Gloria L. Tyler. Ron and Gloria were members of the Church of God since 1955. Ron served on the Spiritual Advisory Committee, was a member of the Men's Group and the Building Committee. He was also proud to furnish a van for the church so children could be transported to various church activities. Ron was the owner of RGC Auto Parts. He and Gloria traveled 10 states buying and selling car parts and emblems. They had made this their hobby for 30 years. Ron worked at numerous jobs. He was a detailer at the Chevy dealership; a material cutter for Seats, Inc.; Reedsburg Auto Body; doing bodywork at the Ford dealership; Jake's Junk Yard and he was a truck driver for Reedsburg Redi-Mix. Ron owned and operated Cayse Body Shop and he later worked for almost 20 years at Skinner Transfer in auto body repair and as a painter. He then retired and worked part-time at Bumper to Bumper Auto Parts delivering parts for fun. Ron was an avid car enthusiast, die cast car collector, loved NASCAR races, car shows and being a loving husband, dad, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Survivors include his wife, Gloria; three daughters, Melody (Kevin) Day, of Dewitt, Va.; Cynthia VanSickle, of Concordia, Mo. and Tammie (Walter) Fry, of Baraboo; six grandchildren, Joshua Day, Ariel, Cassandra and Alexander VanSickle, Brittany Leitner and Katelynn Fry; two great-grandchildren, Walker and Wyatt; other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son-in-law, Bruce VanSickle; his grandson, Brian Day and two brothers, Larry and Jimmy.
Funeral services will be conducted at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Sept. 10, 2009 at the Hoof Funeral Home in Reedsburg with Pastor Debra Sammons officiating. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 4 p.m. until the time of the service on Thursday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the family would be appreciated.
