Samuel and Sarah were married 26 August 1912 in El Paso, Texas. They live most of their lives running a dairy farm in Colonia Dublan, Chihuhua, Mexico. They were able to adopt a son, Boyd, and two daughters, Wanda and Esther.
About her husband's death she said: "My husband, Sam, and I had a great deal of love for each other and enjoyed our long life together. It was a worry when he had a heart attack. He had to watch what he did for two years prior to his death. Then the last attack came while he was doctoring a sick cow and he continued to get worse. He died 14 August 1960, and was buried in Dublan, Mexico."
