Leroy Hensley was born June 27, 1942 at home in Portageville, Mo. to George William Huey Hensley and Lillie Mae White Hensley. In Dec of that same year the family moved by train to Arizona. They stopped in Coolidge because Leroy was sick and that is where they stayed. Leroy worked a lot of his adult life at ASARCO mining co. in Hayden, Az. Here he met his first wife Geneva Lou Laswell. They were married June 30, 1963 in Phoenix, Az. To this union 2 daughters were born, Carrie Lynn and Laura Kay. They later moved to Phoenix and he eventually worked for City of Phoenix. He married a second time to Patricia "Tish" Ann Holbrook Parker on Sept. 25, 1976 in Las Vegas, NV. She had 2 daughters, Cindy and Candy who Leroy raised as his own. Heart problems forced his retirement and in 2006 he received a heart transplant which extended his life another 4 1/2 years. He passed away Sept. 26, 2010.
Leroy was preceded in death by his parents Huey Hensley and Lillie Hensley Crawford, 3 sisters - Ruth Hensley, Mable Delgadillo, Bonnie Queenin and a half sister Linda Crawford Rumsower, 3 brothers - Virgil, Paul, and Utah.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia, 2 daughters - Carrie Brown of Phoenix and Laura Ward of Michigan, 2 stepdaughters - Cindy ..., and Candy Hefner of Mesa, Az, 7 grandchildren and 3 step grandchildren, 2 brothers - James of Apache Junction, Az. and Bob of Prescott, Az., and lots of nieces and nephews.
