James "Jim" Wyler Bartschi, 59; of Soda Springs passed away Saturday, November 27, 2010 at the Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello. Jim was born on November 9, 1951 in Montpelier, Idaho the son of Norman Wyler and Margaret Chapman Bartschi.

He was raised and educated in the Newton, Utah area and attended Skyview High School in Smithfield. He then moved to Douglas, Wyoming for eleven years and later moved back to Newton, Utah.

He married Jackie Sue Shelledy on June 22, 1981 in Newton, Utah.

In 1982 they moved to a Ranch in Chesterfield, Idaho and in 1996 they then moved to Soda Springs.

Jim was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.

He also was a member of the Gold Prospectors Association of America and the NRA.

Jim enjoyed woodworking, gold prospecting and hunting for gems. He was a very good shot with his guns and throwing his knives. He loved spending time with his grandkids, they were his pride and joy. He also was very good at training dogs.

He is survived by his wife Jackie of Soda Springs, and three sons and one daughter; Toby James and Jaime Bartschi of Holdenville, OK; Cory James and Felicia Bartschi of Preston, ID; Douglas Guy and Angela Konold of Lehi, UT; Gynette Love King of Glenrock, WY. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and two brothers, Micheal Bartschi and Robert Lee Kister, and two sisters Connie Christensen and Margie Mills. He was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Tanna Bartschi and Karren Kister.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 4, 2010 at Noon at the Sims Funeral Home(139 East 2nd South).
