MRS. SPANGLER DIED AFTER LONG ILLNESS
Funeral services for Mrs. John Spangler, 76, were held Monday afternoon at two o'clock at the Spangler home here. The Rev. Dudley C. Mosure officiated and burial was made in Elkland cemetery. Mrs. Spangler died Saturday at her home following a long illness.
Florence Elizabeth Atwell was born Feb. 21, 1868, in Lapeer county. Much of her married life was spent in Detroit. She came to Cass City to live four years ago.
Surviving are her husband; a daughter, Mrs. Frank Striffler; and a son, Earl Gooden, both of Detroit; three grandchildren; a great grandchild; a sister, Mrs. Joseph Frutchey, of Saginaw; and two brothers, Elmer and Arthur Atwell, of Cass City.
Mrs. Spangler was a member of the local Methodist church, of Echo Chapter, O. E. S., and an honorary member of the Woman's Study club.
Pallbearers at the funeral were Frank Gooden of Pontiac, Uriah Gooden of Gladwin, Wm. MacFarlane of Detroit, A. D. McIntyre of Saginaw and Wm. McKenzie and Leonard Striffler of Cass City.
