MOORLAND - Ruth M. Harms, 77, of Moorland, died Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at the Fort Dodge Villa Cottages.
Funeral services will be 9:45 a.m. Saturday, October 24th in the chapel of Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Moorland with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home, where there will be a vigil at 7 p.m.
Ruth is survived by her sisters, Rita Bianchi of Fort Dodge and Rose Marie Schwering of Centerville, IA; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Margaret (Staebler) Doyle; her husband, Irvin; a brother, Ronald; and a sister, Norma.
Ruth M. Doyle was born February 6, 1932 in Williams, Iowa. As a child, she moved with her family to Fort Dodge and graduated from Sacred Heart High School. Following her education she became employed for Iowa Illinois Gas & Electric for several years. On August 15, 1961 she was united in marriage to Irvin Harms at Sacred Heart Church and they established their home on a farm near Moorland. Later they moved to Colorado Springs where they owned and operated a motel for a number of years until their retirement. They then returned to Moorland.
She was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church in Moorland.
Memorials may be left to the Alzheimer's Association.
