Birth: Mar. 29, 1905
Death: Jan. 17, 1924

Son of Toney Morris Adams and Sadie Williams Adams.

Merl Adams, the 19 year old son of Mr. and Mrs. Tony Adams of near Cullison died suddenly early Thursday morning of heart trouble.

Young Adams had been ill for some time and had consulted a specialist at Wichita not long ago. He was not considered in a serious condition however and his death was a heavy shock to his parents and his many friends. He was a young man, but well known in his community and was industrious and kind to all. He will be sadly missed from his place in life.-- January, 1924, Pratt Tribune. Special thanks to the Pratt Historical Museum for making this obituary available.

The Pratt Union, Wednesday, January 23, 1924

Merle D. Adams was born March 29, 2905 and departed this life January 17, 1924 aged 18 years 9 months and 17 days.

He was the second son of Mr. and Mrs. Toney Adams.

Merle was born and lived on the home place where the family still resides near Cullison, Kansas.

He had a lovable disposition, always loved and respected by those who knew him. A favorite especially among the young folks.

Besides his parents he leaves to mourn four brothers, Harold Adams, Clyde, Carl and Ivan, his aged grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. R. P. Adams of Canton, Oklahoma, Mr. Geo Williams and a host of other relatives and friends.

One brother and one sister having preceded him to the better world.

The funeral sermon was preached by Rev. L. W. Kemp at the Cullison church on Saturday, Jan. 19, and burial in Green Lawn cemetery at Pratt.

"God gave.
He took, He will restore,
A precious one from us has gone,
He doeth all things well:
A voice we loved is still.
A place is vacant in our home,
Which never can be filled.
God in His wisdom has recalled
The boon His love had given!
And though the body slumbers now.
The soul is safe in Heaven."
