Anthony Davis, 81, was born April 17, 1926 in Detroit, MI to the late Whitely Davis and Leola Wilbourn. At the age of 3 his family moved to the Clinton Township area where he attended William Nicke School. He was employed at Ford Motor Company and later General Motors Corporation.
He was united in marriage to the late Hazel M. Rouse on September 15, 1967. To this union Hazel brought 2 daughters and later 3 more daughters were born.
Anthony was extremely proud of this dedication the the General Mothers Corporation and retired at the age of 49 after working for the company for 33 years. He was also very dedicated to the Greater Zion Missionary Baptist Church attending regularly until falling ill, as well as the Freemasons where he attained great achievements reaching the position of Grand master as well as Grand Worthy Patron of the Eastern Star. After retiring, Anthony spent his time enjoying life. He had a love of gradening and lived to spend time with his family and friends.
He leaves to cherish his memory five daughters, Kizzy Davis of Clinton Township, MI, Robyn Davis (Cordell Williams) of Detroit, MI, Annette Davis (Leon Williams) of Mount Clemens, MI, Tressie McKay (Joe Sherman) of Detroit, MI and Clorie (Russell) Copeland of Richmond, VA; his sisters: Bette Holmes of Clinton Township, MI and Delores Lane of Clinton Township, MI: 9 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and a host of relatives. He was predeceased by his wife, Hazel; brothers, John Davis and Doc Davis; sisters, Sarah Soloman and Waneda Cash.
