Semira E. Newkirk, 88, English, died Tuesday, March 11th at Plainfield Health Care
A native of Orange County, born Sept. 11, 1914, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Dessie Apple Payton.
She was a member of Hillview Christian Church and the Eastern Star Chapter 485, both in Marengo. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Novy Newkirk, three brothers and three sisters.
Survivors include a daughter, Betsie D. Bothwell of Mooresville; a brother, Lowell Payton of Prescott, Wisc.; two grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren Burial in Highfill Chapel Cemetery.
