Jack was around 46 years old at the time he was fired by Lord and Thomas. It was shortly thereafter that he was approached by a gentleman by the name of Bach who was the inventor and creator of the Television ZoomLens. Bach wanted to start a company in the United States with Jack so they opened their company and called it "Television Zoomar." They were in business for several years and made millions of dollars together selling lenses to broadcast networks like RCA (NBC), CBS, and ABC.
In the late eighties, Jack's son Westbrook Pegler II received an Emmy from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences on behalf of his deceased father and the deceased Mr. Bach. An interesting note is that Jack had always wanted to accept/win an Emmy for his efforts with Bachbut it never materialized during his lifetime. His son Westbrook II however received it on his behalf!
On a personal note, Jack married Mable Kelly in 1917 in Baltimore, MD (she was underage so they had to drive to MD to get married). She was a Dancer at the Ziegfeld Follies in NY. When she died of breast cancer in 1954, Jack began dating and later married Maude Evelyn Mock (Carnill) Pegler. They were married until he died in January 1970.
