Son of Theodore Roosevelt Aurand and Hilda Irene Oliver. Husband of Mary Elizabeth Dent Aurand. Father of William F Aurand Jr (Bill), Mary Lee Aurand (Adams)and Catherine Irene Aurand (Hopkins).
In 1945 he married the love of his life, Mary Elizabeth Dent, in Yuma, Arizona.
Fred served in the United States Army as a machine gunner in the 108th Infantry Regiment Company of the 40th Division. He served in the Asiatic Pacific as a Staff Sergeant between 1945-1946 and received his honorable discharge February 18, 1946.
After the war he was employed by Western Air and Refrigeration as a Sheet Metal Superintendent, working on numerous high rise buildins in Southern California until his retirement in 1986.
Fred loved playing golf, horseracing, playing poker and pinochle. He had four hole-in-one's during his life and was a member of the Westlake Golf Course Men's Club, Westlake Village.
He now joins his wife Mary in heaven as well as his brother Jack Aurand and sister Jean Carolyn Aurand.
Survivors include his brother Theodore (Ted) Aurand of Gilbertown, Alabama, son Bill Aurand and his wife Julie of Simi Valley, CA, daughter Mary Lee Adams and her husband Richard of Lake Havasu, AZ, daughter Catherine Hopkins and her husband Richard of Las Vegas, NV, grandson Christian Aurand, of Simi Valley, CA, grandson Corey Aurand and his wife Jan of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, grandson Darren Aurand and wife Charity of Prescott, AZ, granddaughter Amy Holland and husband Brian of Grapevine, TX, grandson Jason Hopkins and his wife Sheri of Las Vegas, NV, and eleven greatgandchildren, Chase, Tanner, Conner and Logan Aurand, Brandon and Shane Cotter, Lindsey Holland, Kenneth and Kaitlyn Funk, Meredith and Marshall Bock. He will be greatly missed by all.
Burial will be at Pierce Brothers Valley Oaks, Westlake Village, California
