Mrs [Frank] Myrtle Baldwin, 72, died Thursday, Jan. 9, 1958 at 12:30 p.m. at the St, Francis hospital in Wichita. Her death was caused by a broken leg and complications. She had been seriously ill since breaking her leg November 28.
Myrtle Lukenbill was born December 10, 1885, in rural Thayer, the daughter of W. D. and Emma Katherine Bryson Lukenbill. She was married October 12, 1909, to Frank Baldwin at Independence. She had lived in Neodesha her entire life. Mr Baldwin preceded her in death December 25, 1952.
She is survived by five children: William F. Baldwin, Eldon, Mo.; Mrs Howard Brown, Wichita; Mrs E. W. Shoemaker, Tulsa; Mrs C. W. Middleton, Wichita and Donald Baldwin, Neodesha; 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs Earon Johnson, of Flint, Mich., and a brother, Otis Lukenbill of Neodesha also survive.
Mrs Baldwin was preceded in death by her parents and one son, three brothers and one sister.
She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist church of Independence. Mrs Baldwin was a good Christian mother. She worked for her church faithfully.
Funeral services were held Sunday at the William Fawcett Funeral Home, with the Rev. E. Russell Hagen, pastor of the Seventh Day Adventist church in Wichita officiating.
Mrs Hagen, wife of the pastor, sang "The Old Rugged Cross" and "Ivory Palaces." Mrs W. W. Pfautz was the organist.
Casket bearers were Floyd Rossen, Oscar Skaggs, J. B. Hardin, Hiram Fields, Robert Marler and Earl Riley. Interment was made in Neodesha cemetery.
Our of town relatives attending the services were: Mr and Mrs W. F. Baldwin, Eldon, Mo.; Mr and Mrs Earon Johnson, Mr and Mrs Leslie Bailey, Flint, Mich.; Mr and Mrs E. W. Shoemaker and sons, Carl and Gary, Tulsa, Okla.; Hal Bryson, Drumright, Okla.; Frank Jaynes, Topeka; Mr and Mrs Howard C. Brown and sons Larry and Gene, Mr and Mrs Clyde Middleton, Wichita; Mr and Mrs Ted Proffitt, Mr and Mrs Dale Van Horn, Ottawa; Mr and Mrs Lee Geiger, Parsons; Mrs Bessie Hopkins, Mrs Viola King, Dennis; Mr and Mrs C. R. Linderman and daughter, Shirley Ann, Cherryvale; Mr and Mrs Frank Bryson, Thayer. Many friends from out of town also attended the services.
