MR. ODIS LEE "JACK" BEAIRD KILPATRICK FUNERAL HOME
Funeral services for Mr. Odis Lee "Jack" Beaird, 87 of Spearsville will be held at 2:00PM on Wednesday, April 18, 2007, in the Liberty Baptist Church in Spearsville with Rev. Gary Canterbury and Rev. Forest Post officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery under the direction of Kilpatrick Funeral Home in Ruston.
Mr. Beaird was born January19,1920 in Spearsville, LA, the son of the late Frank M. and Mary McDougal Beaird, and passed away on April 15, 2007 in Bernice. A life-long resident of the Spearsville Community. Mr. Beaird was a Word War II veteran with the U.S. Army and a member of the Liberty Baptist Church. He spent his life in agriculture and forestry, serving as a forester with the Louisiana Forestry Commission, a farmer, and poultry farmer
Survivors include his beloved wife of 68 years, Agnes Mason Bearid: 2 daughters, Brenda Griffith and her husband, Jess, and Elizabeth Garris and her husband, C.C. ,his son, Ricky Beaird and his wife, Robin; 8 grandchildren: 12 great-greanchildren;4 great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, April 17,2007, at the Liberty Baptist Church in Spearsville. Pallbearers include Larry Bush, Matt Harris, Cecil "Fuzz" Cryer, Lawrence Avant, Ronald Richardson, and Jody Mason.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Paul Bearid, Ronald Elkins, Eric Fondren, and Jeremy Winter.
Mr. Bearid spent many pleasant mornings and afternoons with his bench buddies, Dale Elkins, Garland Wade, Betty Farrar, and others at Farrar's Grocery. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
