A memorial service for Dr. Gerald V. "Jerry" McMann will be held Sunday at 3 p.m. in the Federated Churches at Mitchell, Ne, with the Rev. Jack Winland officiating. Inurnment will be in the Alliance Cemetery on Saturday, Sept. 27 at 3:00 p.m. Jones Mortuary of Mitchell is in charge of arrangements. Dr. McMann died Monday, Sept. 22, 1986, in London, Ontario, Canada. Cremation was held in Canada. He was born Aug. 25, 1938 at Alliance and attended Alliance public schools. He graduated from Bridgeport High School and Chadron State College and Colorado State University, College of Veterinary medicine and established his practice in Mitchell in 1969. Dr. McMann was a member of the Scottsbluff Elks Lodge, AVMA, NVMA, and a past Mitchell School Board member. He was currently a board member of the Panhandle Humane Society.
He married Patricia Jinks of Alliance on Jan. 31, 1959 and she survives at the home. Also surviving are their son Jef and wife Jan of Pine Bluffs, WY; brother, Keith of Polk, Ne; mother-in-law and sisters-in-law, Mildred Jinks, Brenda Manion and Sherri Fry, all of Alliance; and Renee Fredrick of Minatare; brohter-in-law, Ralph Jinks, Omaha; his stepmother and stepsister. His parents, an infant daughter and a stepbrother preceded him in death.
