|Birth: ||Mar., 1864|
|Death: ||Nov. 13, 1923|
James Miller lived in Cooper Co., MO with his uncle, Robert Morton. In the 1870 census, believe he was listed as "John Miller" age 6 and in the 1880 census James was listed as age 17. Thus, according to these census records, he was b ca 1863-1864 in MO.
A descendant of James X. Miller has a record indicating that he was born in Cooper Co., MO. He stated that he was an orphan. The WA death certificate of James X. Miller indicates that he was born in Mar. 1864. These point to his having been James, son of James Miller and Minerva E. Morton.
James Miller married on 8 Jun. 1884, in Lewis Co., WA to Alpharetta Rockwood.
James X. Miller died 13 Nov. 1923, Centralia, Lewis Co., WA; age at death 59 yrs, 7 mos, 18 days; married; wife Alphreta Miller (Washington Death Certificate in familysearch.org) Based on the Death Certificate, the computer calculated birth date is 26 Mar. 1864, but one might argue that it should be 25 Mar. 1864. Yet, the inscription on cemetery marker is:
James Miller 1866-1923
Other sources show his birth as 25 Mar. 1865.
Although the gravestone inscription shows that he was born in 1866, as noted above, he was probably born in 1864.
