CHESTER L. ARMBRUSTER
The funeral for Chester LeRoy Armbruster, 37, Wichita, a former Saline Countian who was killed Saturday in the explosion of waterproofing material used to paint a water tower at Mahaska, will be at 10 am Tuesday at Culberson Mortuary, Wichita, and at 3 pm Tuesday at the Guy R. Ryan Sons Mortuary, The Rev. Leo Miller officiating.
Mr. Armbruster was born Nov. 8, 1924, in Salina. He was raised in the Gypsum - Kipp area and was graduated from Gypsum high school. He and his wife, the former Edna Lucille Bogart of Gypsum, and their six children moved to Wichita from Salina in 1951. Mr. Armbruster was a member of the Gypsum Baptist Church.
A second man, Jess Hansen, 56, died Sunday in a Fairbury, Neb. hospital of burns from the explosion. Mr. Armbruster, a supervisor for Western Waterproofing Co., was working on top of the tower when the explosion occurred and Mr. Hansen was inside the tower.
Survivors are the widow 771 Custer, Wichita: the mother, Mrs J.H. Fahring. Junction City: two daughters, Susan Lucille, 9 and Amy 7, both of the home: four sons. Robert LeRoy, 15; Glen William, 13; George Oscar, 5, and Ben Albert 3: the maternal grandmother, Mrs. Lillie Rothrock, Salina: the paternal grandmother, Mrs. Annie Armbruster, Salina: two sisters, Mrs. Marjorie Lindstrom, Denver, and Mrs. Maxine Fager, Salina; a half-brother, Dr. James Schultz, Council Grove, and a step-brother, Jerry Fahring, Junction City.
