Wife of Jonathan Allum, 1817-1889, of Greene County, Pennsylvania, Ellisabeth ("Elizabeth") was a member of the well-documented SUPLER family of southwestern Pennsylvania. She was a daughter of John Supler and Mary Margaret Sargent.
Married in 1837, she became the mother of nine ALLUM children between 1838 and 1855: John Supler, Sarah Phylena, Andrew Kimmins, Sophia Jane, James Lafayette, Lydia Margaret, Mary Martha, Rachel Anna, and Leroy Hudson.
James and Mary died as child and infant in 1851 and share a gravestone in Enon Cemetery, Richhill Township, Greene County, PA. John, Sarah "Phylena, Andrew, and Rachel "Anna" migrated westward. Sophia, Lydia and Leroy remained in or near their home county.
Ellisabeth outlived her husband by four years, passing on in 1893. Their monument with individual inscriptions is in Enon Cemetery, Richhill Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania. --DeeAnna
The rare image of Ellisabeth on this page is created from an original tintype gifted to ALLUM by Ruby Guessford Temple, tintype in possession of DeeAnna.
The excellent photos of Ellisabeth's gravemarker and its inscription are by Cherie Atkinson Clark. Another side of the same stone bears an inscription for Ellisabeth's husband Jonathan. (See "Jonathan Allum")
