Lorna Baumgarten was married August 12, 1961 to Lyle M. Baumgarten at St. John's Lutheran Church in Baraboo, WI. Two daughters were born to this marriage, Pamela Elaine Domeier and Angela Ruth Filip. Lorna is the daughter of John and Elsie (nee Schneider) Shimniok. Lorna was born in Sumpter Township. Her parents farmed on what is now the Badger Ordinance Plant in Sauk County. Lorna taught elementary classes at Shady Lawn school and then at St. John's Lutheran Day School in Baraboo before marriage. Cancer took her life at the age of 59.
