Funeral Service of J. C. Buchanan To Be Saturday
Jack Claude Buchanan, 40, formerly of Bryan, passed away suddenly in John Sealy hospital in Galveston this morning.
Born near Bryan on September 28, 1910, he was the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Buchanan who for many years resided in the Steep Hollow community.
For the past three years, Mr. Buchanan had lived in Galveston where he was employed at John Sealy Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 4 p. m. Saturday at Hillier Funeral Home with Rev. A. T. Dyal, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church officiating. Interment will be in the family plot in the Steep Hollow cemetery with the following serving as pallbearers Max Buchanan, John S. Buchanan, Henry Buchanan, Eugene Beard and George Crook.
Survivors are the widow and one daughter, Mary Buchanan of Galveston. Six brothers, A. B. Buchanan of Brownfield, Dr. Webb Buchanan and S. A. Buchanan both of Texarkana, Dr. George W. Buchanan, John H. Buchanan and Greene Buchanan all of Bryan.
Four sisters, Mrs. Joe Maynor of Texarkana, Mrs. R. A. Stocking and Mrs. Milton Bodenhammer of Los Angeles and Mr. E. Covey Nash of Houston.
