Susie met her future husband in Detroit, and on December 22, 1933, in the German Emmanuel Evangelical Church, she married Leonard Julius Bridges (aka Bruschitzki). Leonard was the son of John Bruschitzki (1889-1964), and Anna Christine Nastale (1892-1974), both born in Michigan.
Leonard and Susie settled in Detroit, Michigan, and their two children, a daughter and son, were born there.
Susie died on January 2, 2001, and her husband died the following year in 2002. Both are buried in Glen Eden Memorial Park Cemetery.
