John Patrick Booterbaugh was born July 11, 1901, in Lilly, Cambria County, Pennsylvania, a son of William T. Booterbaugh (1867-1949), and Mary M. Nagle (1872-1957), both born in Pennsylvania.
John was the sixth child in a family of ten children. His brothers and sisters were: Ellen Booterbaugh (1890-), Anna may Booterbaugh (1893-), Thomas Booterbaugh (1894-), Paul F. Booterbaugh (1896-1951), Eva Booterbaugh (1899-), Homer Booterbauh (1904-1953), Rose Booterbaugh-Bradley (1906-1968), Irene Booterbaugh (ca 1908-), and Clayton Booterbaugh (1911-1972).
On Jan 3, 1923, John married Margaret Bradley (1901-1965) in Lilly, Pennsylvania. Margaret was a daughter of Michael Daniel Bradley (1861-1927), and Mary Ann "Molly" Callahan (1870-1944), both born in Pennsylvania.
John's brother Clayton and his sister Rose also married members from this same Bradley family.
John and Margaret are both buried in St. Brigid Cemetery.
