Millionaire King of Nomads Dies, Tribes Called Together
Morristown, N. J., July 2 – Naylor Harrison, King of the Romany gypsies is dead.
He died of old age yesterday. A call for a gathering of the tribes has gone forth and interment will be delayed until they have arrived.
Reputed to have been a millionaire who laid the foundation of his wealth with money made trading horses, Harrison owned real estate in all parts of the United States. He was recently reported to have sold some land in St. Louis for $80,000.
The grove in which he and his retinue camped here has been his won property for many years. He pitched his ten there off and on for fifty years and when his wanderings ended four years ago the king established a permanent home at the spot. He was 85 years old. He was a member of the Madison Lodge of the Masonic Order.
Harrison is survived by his widow and eight sons and three daughters.
