Obituary for Mrs. E. C. Armstrong (Julia Etta Ball) daughter of James M. Ball and Julia E. Noe
Mrs. E. C. Armstrong passes away after a lingering illness of several months she died at her home in Springfield early Friday am August 7, 1925 at the age of 65 and 1 day. The funeral was held from the Methodist Church at 3 PM Sunday. Services being conducted by Reverend H. C. Lacy. Burial was in the ball Springfield Cemetery.
A choir from Louisville composed of Miss Edith Mayfield, Mrs. Maxell Mayfield, Roy Mayfield, and Rollie Noes with Miss Hannah Ingram as accompanist furnished the music.
Mr. and Mrs. James M. Ball. Her parents came to Nebraska in 1870 and settled in Omaha and in a few years later moved to Plattford Precinct,this county. In 1878 she was united in marriage to Elza C. Armstrong. To this happy union seven children were born. Three girls and four boys, one dying in infancy. The family has made their home in Springfield since 1903. The deceased was a faithful wife, a loving mother and a good neighbor. She had been a member of the Advent Church for upwards of 20 years.
She leaves to mourn her death, her husband, three sons, Ransom and Grover Armstrong of Springfield, Roy Armstrong, Sioux City, Iowa, and three daughters, Mrs. Chris Anderson, Council Bluffs, Iowa, Mrs. Theodore Wilcox, Louisville, and Mrs. Jack Messier, of Lincoln. Seven grand children, seven brothers, and many relatives and hosts of friends."
