Abraham Wilhoit, 73, Dies At Home South of Kansas, Funeral Sunday
Abraham Wilhoit, 73 years of age, passed away last Friday morning at his home south of Kansas, after several weeks of serious illness resulting from diabetes and gangrene.
The funeral service was held at the Richwoods church Sunday morning in charge of the Rev. F. M. Pope. Interment was in the adjoining cemetery.
The deceased was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Pennelton Wilhoit and was born May 7, 1857. On Dec. 3, 1879, he was united in marriage to Miss Martha E. Bird. To this union seven children were born. They are Pennelton and Sebort Bolle of Parker township, Everett of Redman, Mrs. Clarence Redman of Westfield and Mrs. Roe Redman of Kansas. Two children died in infancy.
In 1902 Mrs. Wilhoit departed this life and Oct. 26, 1903, he was married to Mrs. Amelia Bennett and became the step-father of Burley Bennett.
On Sept. 8, 1913, Mrs. Wilhoit passed away and on Aug. 9, 1916, he was united in marriage to Nora M. Pinnell, mother of Mrs. Ida Murphy of Marshall and Mrs. Emmett Farris of this city.
Surviving are his wife, two sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Redman and Mrs. Margaret Stark, and one brother, Rufus Wilhoit.
He was a faithful member of the Primitive church for many years and was a regular attendant at services when his health permitted.
He will be greatly missed by his relatives and host of friends.
