On early Monday morning, 3 Jan 2011, Margaret Elizabeth Brown passed away peacefully in her sleep of natural causes, in Albuquerque, NM, where she had resided since 2007.
Margaret is survived by her three daughters Roberta Krehbiel and husband Phil of Albuquerque, NM; Sharyn Davidson and husband Bill of Sandia Park, NM and Mary Lynne Leslie and husband James of Santa Barbara, CA. Margaret had five grandchildren, Sara Krehbiel Bonnell and husband Ted; Ana Davidson and husband Marcus Hamilton, both from Albuquerque; John Krehbiel of Paris, France and Collin and Nicolette Leslie of Santa Barbara. She is also survived by her two great-grandchildren Thomas and Sophia Bonnell.
Margaret lived a truly fulfilling life as she enjoyed traveling, sewing, reading and taking care of her dog, Brandi.
Margaret was preceded in death by her husband John Wayne on 8 Jul 2006, in Ridgecrest, CA. Margaret and John married just a few weeks after meeting one another and were married for a total of 63 years. Although they lived in many different cities, their main residence was in Ridgecrest, where they lived for 46 years and where Margaret worked at the Naval Ordnance Test Station, China Lake, CA.
Her remains will be placed at Desert Memorial Park in Ridgecrest next to her husband.
Margaret was loved unconditionally and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
