LaVar Hall, 60, passed away Feb. 1, 1999, at his home in Washington. He was born April 24, 1938, in St. George to Calvin E. and Mary Elizabeth Collier Hall. He married Marilea Hall Oct. 22, 1964 in Las Vegas. They later divorced.

LaVar was reared and educated in Washington and attended school in Washington and St. George. He worked for Rocky Mountain Produce for 25 years. He loved the outdoors, picking pinenuts, hunting, fishing and tinkering.

He helped anyone in need of help, and had lots of friends. Many knew him by the nickname "Red." He kept his sense of humor right up to the end. The family expresses their gratitude to Dr. Phillip C. McMahill, Dr. Charles Bowers and the staff of Dixie Regional Medical Center for thier loving and professional care.

Survivors include his wife, Marilea of Washington; four children: Regina (Roger) Ivie of Smithfield, Marva Beth Hall of Washington, Gordon LaVar (Roberta) Hall of St. George and Serena Grace Hall of Washington; three grandchildren: Dean, Ryan and Keven; two sisters: Helen Winder of Springdale and Mary Lou White of Virgin. He was preceded in death by parents; two sons: Benjamin LaVar and Nathan Carl Hall; and grandson: Tory Layne Hall Ivie.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, Feb. 5, 1999, at 11 a.m. at Washington 2nd Ward Main Street Chapel. Friends may call Thursday evening from 7-8 at Spilsbury & Beard Mortuary, 110 S. Bluff, in St. George, and Friday one hour prior to service at the chapel. Interment will be in the Washington Cemetery, under the direction of Spilsbury & Beard Mortuary St. George, Utah 673-2454.
