Leon Chester Addington, Bandit of Addington, Oklahoma, was shot by Wm. Plueckhahn with 38 Colt Special bullets on January 11, 1933 while robbing the Carmine State Bank in Texas in La Grange, Texas.
"Two men made the mistake of robbing the Carmine State Bank on Jan. 11, 1933, about two months after Ray Hamilton. Leon Addington entered the bank and handed the cashier a note asking for directions. Then he pulled a pistol and pushed it through the cage. "Stick 'em up!" he demanded, forcing the cashier and two others into the vault. The locals alerted Deputy Jim Flournoy, who disarmed the bandit in the getaway car. The deputy then tried the back door, but found it locked. The noise he made caused Addington to look away, giving the cashier a chance to shoot and kill the robber. La Grange's Reichert and Kneip undertaking parlor handled the body, and people from all over the country came to view the corpse and takes photographs."
