A native of Passaic, NJ. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He was a retired Captain in the Army having served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was an employment counselor for the Disabled American Veterans in Colorado.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ricardo and Lillian Marvin of Larchmont, NY. , his sister Helen L Marvin Greer Of Decatur, GA., and brother Richard Lapeira Marvin Jr. of New York, NY.
He is survived by his wife, Alice Faye Upchurch Marvin ; two daughters, Debra L Fournier Of Milford, Ct. and Victoria Long Of Warner Robbins, Ga., four sons, Edward L Jones of Haddock, Ga., Scott B Jones Of Milledgeville, Ga., Paul E Marvin Of Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska, and Sasha Lapeira of Colorado; and 9 Grandchildren ; Jody, Staci, Sean, Dylan, Rachel, Phillip, Drew, Chance, and Cherish.
The funeral is at First Presbyterian Church with the Rev. John Oerter officiating. Burial will be at Ellizabethtown Memorial Gardens with full military honors.
