Martha E. Edblom, 85, Cook, went home to her Lord and Savior on Friday, January 28, 2011at the Carefree Living in Cook, with family by her side.

She was born on April 8, 1925 in Cook, the daughter of Bert and Nellie (Fine) Flack. Martha attended the Owens School then the Cook High School, graduating in 1943. Martha married Milton Edblom on December 4, 1943 in Cook.

Martha known fondly as" Gramma E" was very involved with the lives of many children. She had some in her home but spent the last twenty years at Little Beginnings Preschool as every ones " Gramma E." Martha loved sewing. She made countless dresses, patched many clothes for people and also did upholstery work. She was very creative making wreaths, pine cone trees, paper fire places and teddy bears. She was known for her famous homemade rye bread and peanut butter twists. Her favorite past time was making greeting cards. Martha was very faithful at remembering special occasions especially birthdays of young and old friends. She had a fabulous talent of making something from nothing.

Martha lived in Cook all her life but for a year in Alaska and a short stay at Edgewood Vista in Virginia. She moved into Carefree Living in May of 2010. She was thrilled to be back in Cook, close to family and friends. She was very happy and comfortable at Carefree Living and the staff was fabulous and became like family.

Martha was preceded in death by her parents; former husband Milton Edblom; 5 brothers, Warren, Wayne, Herbert Flack and 2 infant brothers; 6 sisters; Ruth Harrison, Ethel Pellinen, Marge Peterson, Evelyn Bockovich, Eva Bockovich and Esther Flack as an infant.
Visitation will be Friday, (Feb. 4th) from 6:00 PM until the 7:30 PM Celebration of Life Service at the Mlaker Funeral Home. Rev. Reuben Rosnau will be the officiant. Lorraine Walker will provide the music. Private family graveside services will be held in the spring at the Cook Community Cemetery.
