The deceased was an honored and worthy member of the I.O.O.F. Lodge at Humphreys. He was a member of the Christian Church at LIndley, having joined when he was 18 years old.

Brother Clark lived an honorable and upright life, was respected and loved by all, and will be greatly missed by the family and friends.

Funeral was conducted from North Bethel Church and the large crowd that filled the house was evidence of the high esteem in which he held where he had lived so long. The sermon was preached by J.H. Lane of Laredo M.E. Church, using as a text 1 Cor. 15:35. His body was laid to rest in the Humphreys cemetery. The I.O.O.F. had charge of the service at the grave using their beautiful and impressive burial service. Thus marks the passing of a "good man". "Jesus while our hearts are bleeding o're the spoils that death hath won. We would at this solemn part".
