William was born on June 12, 1838 in Jackson County, Ohio and died on February 15, 1922 in Hamden, Vinton, Ohio.

William's parents were Foster Littlejohn and Margaret McGarvey (we believe).
Foster died about 1847 leaving Margaret to raise ... children. Foster's father and mother were very early Ohio pioneers Valentine Littlejohn (1785 - 1850) and Mary "Polly" Foster (1790 - 1827). Valentine was born in Kentucky and was in Scioto Co. Ohio by the time of the 1830 census. [Land records?] Valentine's father was Aaron Littlejohn (1750 - 1815). Valentine died in Greenup Co., Kentucky and was born in Virginia.
