Edward Chambers was christened 10 October 1779 in Boughton-Malherbe, Kent, son of John and Margaret Chambers.
Siblings included Sarah (1765), Christopher (1767), John (1770), Anne (1774), and Mary Ann (1776). Edward was the youngest child. His mother died 10 October 1779, presumably in childbirth.
Edward married Sarah Sedgewick 19 October 1804 at Lenham, Kent. Sarah was born 12 August 1787 at Little Chart, Kent. Her parents were John and Susannah (Betts) who married 15 Jun 1774 at Little Chart, Kent. Sarah's siblings were Mary (1774), John (1777), Susannah (1779), William (1782 and James (1784).
Edward and Sarah Chambers' first child, John Chambers, was christened 4 February 1805 at Lenham, Kent. The next three children were born at Boughton-Malherbe: James (11 February 1807), Edward (17 September 1809) and Sarah Day (19 August 1810).
Edward and Sarah moved to Lenham about 1811 and had nine more children born in Lenham: (It is presumed the child Sarah Day Chambers born 1810 died as the next child born is also named Sarah)
Sarah (24 May 1812), Marianne (14 May 1815), William (7 December 1817), George
(20 February 1820), Stephen (4 August 1822), Harriet (27 October 1832), Reuben
(4 March 1827), Caroline (1833) and Emily (1837).
In 1841, the family was living at Sandway, Grafty Green, in Lenham. Edward 60, agricultural labourer, Sarah 50, William 23, Caroline 8, and Emily 4.
In 1851, Edward is 72, pauper, former agricultural labourer, Sarah is 63, William 33, Stephen 28 and Caroline 18.
Edward died 13 Sep 1860, Lenham, Kent, age 81. His daughter Sarah Norman (married to John Norman) was present at death.
Sarah died 15 June 1872, Lenham, Kent. Charles Philpott, married to Sarah's daughter, Caroline, was present at death.
