Wife Of Rev. Timothy Horton Ball.
See Richard Schmal's book Memories of Lowell, Indiana for Ball family data pp. 126-129; a telegram early Sunday morning to Mrs. John Wilson brought the sad news to Crown Point of the death of Mrs. Timothy H. Ball, at Sheffield, Alabama, where spending the winter months with a daughter, Mrs. Georgia Martin. Martha C. Ball was a courteous cultivated Southern bred lady. Her sweet face will be sadly missed from her Crown Point home, where she arrived many years ago, assisting her husband in building up the Crown Point Institute. Loving sympathy is extended to the aged husband, Rev. Ball, who just a few days ago passed his 86th birthday. She leaves to mourn her, beside her husband, this daughter and one son Herbert, who is in the far west. No further particulars have been received, but the Star may be able to publish a full obituary next week.

Died, on Sunday morning at about 8 o'clock, February 25, 1912, at the home of Rev. I.W. Martin, in Sheffield, Alabama, Mrs. Martha C.C. Ball, wife of Rev. T.H. Ball, of Crown Point, Indiana. Mrs. Ball was a daughter of Elder Hiram Creighton, a well-known pastor in Clarke County, Alabama, one generation ago, and the sister of Rev. J.H. Creighton, a very active and useful pastor now residing in Clarke County, at Whatley. She was one of the noble women of the land, a loyal Baptist church member and an excellent Sunday school teacher. She has left two children, Herbert S. Ball, of Idaho, and Mrs. I.W. Martin, of Sheffield, and two grandchildren, Horton C. and Muriel C. Martin, of Sheffield. Upon the arrival of Mr. Ball from Idaho, the remains will be taken to Clarke County, Ala., for burial.
