Brown County World, August 18, 1939 - S.J. DeBusk, of Holton, died in West Virginia, Monday, Aug. 14. Mr. Debusk, with his wife, youngest daughter, Mrs. J. McCauley, of Kansas City, Mr. McCauley, small daughter had gone to West Virginia on vacation trip to visit his old home, friends-relatives there. In failing health for a number of years he became critically ill soon after his arrival in West Virginia. Among children who survive him are 2 sons at Morrill, Jim, Ben; a daughter, Mrs. R.F. Nelson, formerly of Morrill how living near Whiting. Charles E. Nelson, of Hiawatha, is a grandson. The body was returned to Holton for funeral services.
Samuel Jasper DeBusk was the son of John Wesley DeBusk and Emeline Widener.
