Eugene M. Barragy, age 90, of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla., passed away on Oct. 28, 2000.
Eugene was preceded in death by his parents, Ambrose and Kathrine Barragy; and daughter, Terri Nodine and Brother, John Joseph Barragy.
Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Mariane Barragy; daughter, Mary Lou Barragy; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren of California; six stepchildren; 78 stepgrandchildren; and four step great-grandchildren.
He was a very loving person; he took care of his family. He started in the motion picture business at the age of 14 as an office boy and continued in the motion picture business for 61 years. He served in the military for four years, some of which were filming the war on the front lines. He also toured with Bob Hope on the Christmas tours for many years.
His wishes were to be cremated and a memorial Mass will be held at St. Rita Catholic Church in Santa Rosa Beach at 11:30 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 2, with Rev. Monsignor James Flaherty officiating.
Burial will follow in Beal Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Rita building fund, Hospice or Multiple Sclerosis.
