William R. "Bob" Babb, 84, of 1138 Spruce Ave. died Wednesday, Jan. 6, 1999, at Knox County Nursing Home in Knoxville.

Born Aug. 19, 1914, in Chillicothe to William R. and Helen Babb, he married Lila M. Admire on Aug. 26, 1970, in Monmouth. She survives.

Also surviving is one stepson, David Jones of Galesburg.

He was the owner and operator of Bakers Dozen Doughnut Shop for more than 12 years. Before that, he worked for Burlington Northern Railroad for 20 years.

He was a World War II Army Air Forces veteran.

He was a 50-year member of the Masons and the Shriners.

Burial will be in Chillicothe Cemetery.
