Stocker S. Bardwell, 68, died at his home in Bullard after a long illness. Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at First United Methodist Church with the Rev. Morris Matthis and the Rev. Martin Vershel officiating. Burial will be in Larissa Cemetery under direction of Boren-Conner Funeral Home of Bullard. A native of Larissa, he was a retired carpenter. He was a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and member of Midway 6th Defense Battalion Reunion Association of World War II. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Laverne Bardwell of Bullard; three sons, Stocker Bardwell, III of Houston, John Bardwell of Austin, and Mark Bardwell of Tyler; one sister, Dorothy Ann Harley of Houston; one nephew, Andrew Harley of Carey, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
