Alma (Nelson) Leffingwell was the daughter of Levi & Margaret Alice (Engle) Nelson. As a young girl her parents twice took the family to homestead lands in Kansas for several years and they lived once for a year in Missouri but each time they became homesick for the hills of Lawrence County and returned home to Ohio. Alma married Bart Leffingwell on August 9th, 1911 in Lawrence County, Ohio and they had the following chlldren: William Ernest, Helen Rosalie and Carol Lee.
