SMITH, Susan Lynn of Saginaw, Michigan passed away on Saturday, December 28, 2013 at St. Mary's of Michigan with her family by her side. She was 56 years old. Susan Lynn Leibinger was born on March 12, 1957 in Saginaw to James J. Sr. and Shirley (Stelter) Leibinger. She married the love of her life, David John Smith on November 9, 1996 in Saginaw; he survives her. She graduated from Douglas MacArthur High School with the class of 1975. Sue was employed by Sullivan's Restaurant as a server, where she worked for 40 years – she truly loved her job and people. In the past, Sue enjoyed bowling and being involved in many bowling leagues. She also enjoyed landscaping, working on projects around her home and knitting. Sue was also very witty and a practical joker - she often enjoyed making people smile or laugh. After the death of her father, Sue became active in many 5K walks. She loved and cherished her pets and was a member of St. Helen Catholic Church.

Surviving are her husband, David John Smith; mother, Shirley Leibinger of Saginaw; sister, Cindi Whitmer; brother James J. Jr. (Renee) Leibinger); one brother-in-law, Robert (Sandy) Smith, two sisters-in-law: Sherry Evans and Chris Smith; a nephew, Ryan Leibinger; niece, Hannah Leibinger; and her beloved dog, Leo. Also surviving are many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, James J. Leibinger, Sr.; three brothers-in-law, Buster Whitmer, Kirk Evans and Larry Smith; and a father- and mother-in-law: Robert E. and Lois Ann Smith.

FUNERAL: Honoring Sue's wishes cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will take place at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at Deisler Funeral Home, 2233 Hemmeter Rd. (off State). Rev. Fr. Ronald F. Wagner will officiate.

VISITATION: Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m.
