David Patterson Cook returned home peacefully on Thanksgiving evening surrounded by his family.
Pat loved country music and was a talented rhythm guitar player who touched many lives with his music. Throughout his life he shared his talents by performing for countless programs, parties, funerals and church functions with his fiddling partner and friend Rush Kee. The dual was later accompanied by Rush's wife Eve on piano.
Pat was a good friend to many and never hesitated to offer help or support to those in need. He was a real cowboy who loved horses, rodeos, and telling stories about the good 'ole days. Everyone loved his cowboy humor and barnyard philosophies.
Pat was a loving grandfather. His grandchildren were left with sweet memories of sleigh riding, helping Grandpa gather cows, exploring caves and the fascination of watching him play the spoons. Every Sunday, Grandpa would visit bringing a bag of goodies and a couple of bucks for each grandchild.
Pat retired from Chemstar Lime Plant in 1990 after thirty years of service. In addition to work, he was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and served many positions throughout the years.
He is survived by his daughters: Alice (Jeff) Hunt, Karma (James) Erickson, Brother: Morley (Jan) Cook, Grandchildren: Clint Miller, Jake Miller, Guy Miller, Taylor Hunt, Danielle Barlow, Sierra Erickson, Great Grandson: Austin Clint Miller and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Pat was preceded in death by his father: Robert Hunter Cook, Mother: Alice Cooley Cook, Sisters: Ida Durfee, Mary Durfee, Marva Gustin, and Brother: Daniel Cook.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the caregivers at Holladay Healthcare and First Choice Hospice, our angels here on earth.
