Beverly Ann Gipson-Rogers, 67, of Kelso died Sept. 28, 2009, at Swedish Hospital in Seattle due to complications of heart surgery.
She was born Oct. 27, 1941, in Amoret, Mo., to Vernon and Wilma Ford. She graduated from high school in Naches, Wash., in 1959. She later married Vernon C. Gipson and had a wonderful 21-year marriage until Vernon's death in 1982.
Beverly worked in the Longview area as a legal secretary for Wayne Roethler and various partners for 21 years, finishing her career in Seattle with the law firm of LeGross, Buchanan, Paul and Whitehead, the largest maritime law firm on the west coast.
After moving back to Longview, Beverly married Richard Rogers who restored in her the truth that marriage is an awesome and wonderful thing.
Beverly had faith and trust in the Lord and prayed for her family daily.
Beverly's passion was for her family. She loved it when her children would visit, but her eyes would dance when her grandchildren walked through the door. You didn't have to know her long to know that her true love was cooking, cookbooks and yelling, "Bingo!"
Beverly was preceded in death by her first husband, Vernon Gipson; and a brother, Larry Ford.
She is survived by her second husband, Richard Rogers; six children, Charles Gipson of Orlando, Fla., Kristen Howell and Stephen Gipson, both of Longview, Sandy Norris of Kelso, Sharon Staatz of Gig Harbor and Michael Bloom of Ryderwood; two brothers, Lyndel Ford of Sea-Tac, Wash., and Gary Ford of Holden, Mo.; 20 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Friends and family and invited to attend a celebration of Beverly's life at 1 p.m. Saturday at New Life Fellowship Church of God, 2441 42nd Ave., in Longview.
Arrangements are by the Neptune Society.
