Oral David "Jody" Huff, 60, of Rivesville, died suddenly on Wednesday February 10, 2010 at the Fairmont General Hospital. He was born May 3, 1949 at Fairmont, a son of the late Oral Elzie and Catherine Hartzell Huff. Jody was a coal miner for 32 years, having worked for Consolidation Coal Co.'s Blacksville No. 1 and Loveridge Mines. He was a 1967 graduate of Farmington High School and a member of the UMWA. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, who loved going to the mountains. Jody also enjoyed going to auctions with his buddy, Mike Zemonick, going to the Country Club Health Spa and was always there to take care of his family. He is survived by his wife, Nora M. Harris Huff, whom he married December 19, 1967; 3 daughters and 2 sons-in-law, Lisa K. and Brian Carpenter, Farmington, Sandy and Kenneth Culhane, Grant Town, Jodie Huff, at home, 3 grandchildren, Briona Carpenter, Sierra and Sydney Huff, and a great grandson, Cyrus Lee Collins, 2 sisters and a brother-in-law, Martha and Tom Martin, Farmington, Mickey Maxwell, Mod's Run, 2 brothers, Robert "Sam" Huff, Alexandria, VA, and John Huff, Denver, CO, and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Jody was also preceded in death by a brother, Donald Huff, and a brother-in-law, Bill Maxwell. Friends may call at the Hutson Funeral Home in Farmington on Saturday from 2-9 p.m. where funeral services will be held on Sunday 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Chad Hutson officiating. The graveside committal service will be held in the funeral home, with private burial to follow.
