Vincenzo Savoca
Birth: May 1, 1898
Death: May 1, 1986

Vincenzo was the oldest of 6 children belonging to Giovanni and Maria Savoca, and was born in Castiglione di Sicilia, Sicily. At the age of 15 he left his native country with his father Giovanni in search of a better life in America. After his father got into some trouble with the townsmen of Albany for playing around with married woman, Vincenzo ran to Boundbrook, NJ. It was in Boundbrook that he connected with his soon to be wife Maria Farfaglia. The two were wed and had 3 children John, Marie, and Salvatore. Working in the canning and oil business, he kept a house for his family which he lived in for over 50 years, as did all of his children, some grandchildren, and now even great grandchildren. He was a proud family man, who wouldn't spend a penny if he could help it. He was well loved by his whole family, and was preceeded in death by his wife of 65 years Maria, and son John. Dying on his birthday as he said he would from a young age, he left behind Marie and Salvatore, 2 daughter-in-laws, 1 son-in-law, 8 grandchildren and at the time, 6 great grandchildren. He is burried in Calvary Cemetery, Queens, NY.
