Fannie Lee Garner was the 8th of 10 children of James Edmond Garner and Willie Ann Reel of Tatum, Rusk County, Texas. She was born there on January 16, 1902. Her paternal grandparents were William Jackson Garner and Rebecca Caroline Fulgham. Her maternal grandparents were William Henry Reel and Susan Melvina LaGrone.
On April 23, 1925 Fannie Lee Garner and Claude Earl Bozarth, a divorced railroad man, eloped to Texarkana, Miller County, Arkansas. They were the parents of Claude Earl, Jr., Paul Gene and Jo Ann Bozarth. They struggled through the Depression years in Mineola, Texas and worried thrugh the World War II years in Ft. Worth and Dallas, Texas where Claude was working as a Switch-Engine operator in the Santa Fe Railroad yards. Both of their sons, Claude and Paul, served in the Navy during these years and returned safely after the war to marry and give her nine grandchildren to call her Grandma. Her daughter Jo Ann Wilhite gave her another five grandchildren to love. Fannie Lee was an excellent cook. She made clothes for her family and later worked as a seamtress for several companies over the years. She was a member of the Peak & East Side Church of Christ. She died in Dallas, Texas on March 12, 1989 at the age of 87 years, 1 month and 24 days. She was buried beside her husband Claude in the Mineola City Cemetery in Mineola, Texas where his parents had preceded them.
