Gust Gubrud -1928
Gust Gubrud, 65 years of age, for twenty years a resident of Clearwater County, passed away at a Fergus Falls hospital on Monday, June 11th.
Mr. Gubrud was born at Spring Grove, this state, December 14, 1862. In the year 1908 he came to Clearwater County and settled in the town of Copley. There he purchased land which he worked up and transformed into one of the finest farms in the county.
In 1889 he was united in marriage to Miss Rosalie Vaaler at Wilmington, Hudson County. Six children were born to them. They are: Carl, Mrs. Fred Nelson, Emroy, Wisconsin; Edwin of Kindred, North Dakota, John, Gilbert and Lina. The last three mentioned are staying at their home near here. Mrs. Gubrud and all the children are living and mourn the loss of a loving father and a kind husband.
Mr. Gubrud was hard working, honest man, a devoted Christian and a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran Church of Bagley.
Funeral services will be conducted at the St. Paul's Lutheran Church tomorrow (Friday) at 1:30 o'clock, Rev. A. Sorenson officiating. Interment will be at the village cemetery and A.W. Neujahr will be funeral director.
In the passing of Mr. Gubrud the community has lost a pioneer who will be missed, not only by his family, but by the entire neighborhood.
Mr. Gubrud's mother, 90 years of age, also survives him. She makes her home at Kindred, North Dakota. Two brothers Ole at Superior, Wisconsin and Elias at Kindred, North Dakota and four sisters are expected to be present at the funeral service.
The family has a large circle of friends who extend their sympathy to the bereaved ones.
