Donald Edwin Farester
Donald Edwin Farester, 80, of McGrann died Monday, April 15, 2002 at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, Pittsburgh.
He was born July 3, 1921 in Furnace Run to Dalton and Myrtle (Myers) Farester.
Mr. Farester was a box maker at the former Pittsburgh Plate Glass Industries, Ford City.
He was a Protestant.
His memberships included the Manor Township Fire Department, where he was a life member.
His hobbies were hunting, fishing and gardening and enjoyed developing his own vegetables. He also enjoyed spending time with his family and taking care of his dog.
Survivors include five sons, Dalton Farester of Arizona, Donald Farester of Kittanning RD5 (Kittanning Township), Harley "Ed" Farester of Arizona, David Farester of McGrann and Daniel Farester of Ford City; one daughter, Mrs. Ernest (Dawnisie) Luke of Kittanning RD2 (Kittanning Township); 15 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and one brother, Dalton Farester of Kittanning.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Esther S. (Fry) Farester, who died March 6, 1980; one brother, Peary Farester; and one sister, Lucille Anthony.
FARESTER - Friends of Donald Edwin Farester, 80, of McGrann, who died April 15, 2002, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Welch Funeral Home, 1032 Fourth Ave., Ford City, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday with the Rev. William Headley, pastor of the Simpson Bible Church, officiating. Interment will take place in the Ford City Cemetery, Manor Township. Arrangements by Welch.
