Mary Esther Moon married George Washington Davis on Dec 30, 1886 in Upshur County, Texas. There were seven children born to this union. In the early months of 1903, George died while working at Bryan's Mill in Cass county and was buried there beside his youngest daughter, Lillie, who died in 1900.

In the latter part of 1903, Mary Esther remarried to Elijah Nicholas 'Nick' Loving. To this union was born three children. Only one of those survived to adulthood.

Mary Esther had been sick with a pulmonary disease from June of 1914 until her death in September of 1914.
