John W. Reiss, son of John Reiss and Louisa Bernhardt Reiss, served in the U.S.Army during WW1 of 1917-18. Husband of Virginia P. Reiss 1901-91. John moved his family from Nebraska to El Cerrito, CA in 1932. There, he worked as a roofer to support his wife and eleven children. John died in Carson City, NV in June of 1990 at the age of 95. He had 11 children, 28 grandchildren and at least 51 gr. grandchildren. He was a quiet man loved by all who knew him.
