Caroline died while he was working as a mining engineer in Florence, Colorado. He then married Jenne A. Johnson on October 21, 1901 in Denver, Denver Co., Colorado.
Per his death certificate, Julius was the son of Francis & Roseline von Alpenfels.
On his petition for Naturalizaion, Julius states was born in Rumburg, Austria, which was in the Bohemia area of the Austrian Empire.
Currently (2010) Rumburk (Czech pronunciation: [ˈrumburk]; German: Rumburg) is a town in the ┌stÝ nad Labem Region in the north of the Czech Republic. It has about 11,000 inhabitants and is famous because of its reportedly beautiful historical inner cities with many historical sights such as the old monastery.
