Jennie Catherine (Grauel) Rogers was born September 21, 1906 at Lecompton, Kansas. She was the oldest of two daughters born to William F. and Jane C. (Lux) Grauel.
At the age of 20, Jennie and her future husband Floyd Rogers eloped and were married before a Justice of the Peace in Kansas City, Jackson County, Missouri on May 9, 1927. Following the ceremony, the newlyweds returned to Topeka where they lived the rest of their lives. Because Jennie sustained a basketball injury when she was in high school, no children were born to this marriage.
Jennie was employed as a stenographer at the State Office Building in Topeka for many years, and together she and Floyd shared 48 years of married life before Jennie passed away April 25, 1976 at a nursing home in Topeka as a result of Alzheimers Disease.
